The Houding Foundation works in coordination with families of Military Veterans to provide humanitarian assistance and support in rural areas of the department of Córdoba, particularly in villages and municipalities affected by the rainy season.
In the municipality of San Pelayo, in the village of Obligado, we supported a solidarity initiative led by the Gómez López Araujo family, composed of CR (Ret.) Dagoberto Gómez, his wife Arelys del Socorro López Araujo, Elvia López Araujo, Eduardo Enrique and his wife Paulina, David Santiago, William Alfonso, and Nicolle Sofía.
Through this joint effort, 40 families from the village of Obligado and the municipality of San Pelayo benefited from the distribution of:
-
Basic food packages
-
Sun protection caps
-
Hygiene supplies
-
Pet food (for dogs and cats)
During our field visit, we witnessed the devastating impact of the rainy season: floodwaters swept away homes, household belongings, and crops. Many families were left without essential possessions and without arable land for cultivation, worsening their economic and food security conditions.
The Houding Foundation reaffirms its commitment to rural communities by bringing hope, solidarity, and concrete action to those who need it most.
